Are TeaZa Pouches Safe? Ingredients, Caffeine & FAQs

    October 06, 2026 3 min read

By Dr. Brent Agin, MD, founder and creator of TeaZa® · Updated October 2026

If you're thinking about trying TeaZa®, it's smart to ask what's in it and whether it's safe. As a physician and the person who created TeaZa, here's a straightforward look at what's inside every pouch, how it's made, what to know about caffeine, and who should check with a doctor first.

    The short answer

TeaZa is an herbal tea pouch with no tobacco and no nicotine. It's made in the USA in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) facility and third-party tested. TeaZa Energy contains about 50mg of caffeine per pouch, so you should count it like you would coffee or tea. TeaZa Chill is caffeine-free.

    What's in a TeaZa pouch?

    TeaZa comes in two lines:

    TeaZa Energy TeaZa Chill
Caffeine About 50mg per pouch, from green tea and yerba mate None
Key herbs Green tea, yerba mate, eleuthero root, rhodiola root, Panax ginseng Chamomile, passion flower, magnolia bark
    Vitamins B-vitamins B-vitamins
    Sweetener Sucralose Sucralose
    Nicotine / tobacco None None

Every TeaZa pouch is sugar-free, zero-calorie and gluten-free. Check each product's label for the complete ingredient list.

    How TeaZa is made

    • Made in the USA
    • Produced in a GMP facility — GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards cover how products are made, handled and checked for quality.
    • Third-party tested
    • Doctor-created — I developed TeaZa as a physician, originally for myself during medical residency. Read how TeaZa started.

    What to know about caffeine

Each TeaZa Energy pouch has about 50mg of caffeine — about half a cup of coffee. The FDA cites 400mg a day as an amount not generally associated with negative effects for most adults. Count your TeaZa Energy pouches along with coffee, tea, soda, energy drinks and pre-workout.

Too much caffeine can cause jitters, a racing heart or trouble sleeping. If you're sensitive to caffeine or using TeaZa later in the day, choose caffeine-free TeaZa Chill.

    Does TeaZa have side effects?

The main thing to watch is caffeine in TeaZa Energy — too much can cause jitters or trouble sleeping. As with any pouch, if you notice irritation in your mouth or gums, take a break and check with your dentist.

Who should check with a doctor first?

Talk to your doctor before using TeaZa — or any herbal product — if you:

    • Are pregnant or nursing
    • Take prescription medication
    • Have a heart condition, high blood pressure or another medical condition
    • Are sensitive to caffeine (or choose caffeine-free TeaZa Chill)

TeaZa is an herbal tea product with no age requirement. If you're under 18, check with your parents first — and keep in mind TeaZa Energy contains caffeine.

How TeaZa compares to dip and nicotine pouches

TeaZa Nicotine pouches Dip / chew
    Nicotine None Yes Yes
Tobacco None No tobacco leaf Yes
Spitting Not needed Not needed Usually
Caffeine 50mg (Energy) or none (Chill) Varies None

Smokeless tobacco causes cancers of the mouth, esophagus and pancreas, gum disease and tooth loss, according to the CDC. Nicotine pouches have no tobacco leaf, but nicotine is addictive. TeaZa contains neither.
