David Wells is an American baseball pitcher who played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball for nine teams, most notably the Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees. Nicknamed "Boomer", Wells was considered one of the league's top left-handed pitchers during his career and made three All-Star appearances. In 1998, he pitched the 15th perfect game in baseball history. Boomer is a 2x World Series Champion.

The Perfect 33 Foundation was started in San Diego which is a military based community, is where David has many friends who have served or are still serving in the military. Through these friends, David got first hand knowledge about the need for resources to help those who have been injured either physically or mentally while serving our country. David became passionate about helping these veterans to get the medical resources needed and to assist with the many challenges their families faced.

As a result, David and Nina formed the Perfect 33 Foundation in 2015. Since then, the foundation has raised nearly 2 million dollars with beneficiaries such as the Best Defense Foundation, Git R’ Done Foundation, Kirk Gibson Foundation for Parkinsons, Puerto Rico Relief Foundation, Navy Seal Family Foundation and many more.
