TeaZa® Energy’s Anti-tobacco Initiative Commemorates its One Year Anniversary.

Over the past year, Operation Tobacco Free (OTF) has proudly donated tens of thousands of dollars in product and sponsorships to youth sports teams, health programs and even a tobacco de-addiction study in partnership with a nonprofit chapter at a major university.

What is OTF?

Operation Tobacco Free is a prosocial initiative sponsored by TeaZa® Energy.  The OTF Mission is to end smokeless tobacco use in the U.S. by inspiring healthy, tobacco-free lifestyles through education, community outreach and support of youth sports and health programs.

Every year, some 535,000 kids in the US ages 12-17 try smokeless tobacco for the first time.  “Many kids get introduced to smokeless tobacco on the baseball field,” said TeaZa® Energy President and CEO, Brent Agin, MD.  “It’s our mission to spread the message that it’s not hip to dip and get TeaZa in highschool dugouts across the US so they have a better chance of never starting the habit.”

What is the OTF pledge?

The OTF journey starts with a pledge to be tobacco-free. When you take the OTF pledge to be tobacco-free, you:

• All tobacco products, including smokeless tobacco, contain nicotine which is highly addictive.
• Chew contains at least 28 chemicals known to cause cancer and up to twice the amount of nicotine as a cigarette.
• Smokeless tobacco use can cause oral lesions, oral cancer, esophageal cancer, pancreatic cancer, heart disease, gum disease, and death.
